Sod Installation

Sod installation is the process of laying down pre-grown grass patches, also known as sod, on bare soil to create an instant lawn. This method is preferred over seeding as it provides a quicker and more uniform result.

The process begins with soil preparation, which involves removing any existing vegetation, rocks, and debris as part of a thorough landscape cleanup. The soil is then graded and leveled to ensure a smooth surface. Fertilizer and soil amendments may be added to promote healthy growth.

Next, the sod is delivered and promptly installed. The rolls of sod are laid down tightly, with each piece fitting snugly against the other. This ensures a seamless appearance and prevents gaps where weeds or erosion could occur. The sod is then rolled to ensure good contact with the soil and eliminate air pockets.

After installation, the sod needs to be watered immediately and regularly for the first few weeks to establish strong root growth. Proper irrigation services, including setting up an efficient watering schedule, are crucial during this period to prevent overwatering or underwatering, which can lead to sod failure.
